The Chinese government has been placing great importance on issues regarding work safety. In recent years, by taking major measures in term s of systems, mechanisms, funding and soon ,it has continuously improved workplace safety conditions and on a preliminary basis checked the rising trend of accident total, in the context of sustained and rapid growth of the Chinese economy. We will continue to give top priority to safety issues and promote preventive culture at workplaces, oversee the primary responsibility of enterprises for workplace safety and urge safety watchdogs to fulfill their regulatory role. Sustained efforts will be made in promoting safety culture, building a sound legal framework governing work safety science and technology, and increasing the funding of safety measures. It is our aim to enhance safety management at source, eliminate hazards that stand in the way of improved safety conditions, and ensure safety at the intrinsic level.
With the development of Chinese economy, China’s reinforced supervision and administration of safe production, recognition of the importance of occupational health, and the intensified awareness of personal safety, the personal protection equipment industry will have an expanded market and better prospect. According to UN Report forecast, China’s economy will growth by 8.8% in 2010 and become an engine power of 2010 global economic growth. China has put work safety as a basic state policy and more increasingly stressed people’s life and property safety. China is increasing its investment safe word of relevant industries. It is estimated that over RMB 360 billion has been invested in personal protection equipment, safety facilities and safety examination instruments annually by the government, including RMB 50 billion to the safe work of coal mining industry. Immense prospect has emerged to the demand of safe work of various industries. In China, work safety product alone has a market potential valued at RMB 60 billion , which includes the 25-billion-market of special product that directly protects the safety and health of workers. Besides, it is hopeful that China’s security reached $18.9 billion in 2009, increased by 7.5% compared with $17.5 billion in 2008. By 2013, the market will expand to $26.5 billion and the compound annual growth average is expected to be 8.6%.
